Sales invoices
Purpose
The Sales invoices screen lists the invoices issued to customers: their reference, their date, their amount and their state.
From this list you can correct the header of an invoice, print it in several forms — invoice, delivery note, stock release note — and issue a credit note to cancel or correct it.
Most are generated by invoicing a sales order, via the Facturer et expédier button — see Sales orders, section Invoice and dispatch. The ➕ button on this screen also allows an invoice to be drawn up directly, with no prior order.
The module is visible to accounts holding the Financial management right.

The invoice list
| Column | Content |
|---|---|
| Référence | The invoice number. |
| Date | The date of issue. |
| Client | The customer invoiced. |
| Commercial | The salesperson in charge. |
| Etat | En instance, Confirmée, Facturée or Expédiée. |
| Valeur HT | The total excluding tax. |
| TVA | The VAT rate, as a percentage. |
| Action | ✏️ Editer, 🖨️ Imprimer and ↩️ Avoir. |
The list shows 50 invoices per page, with the pagination controls.
En instance, Confirmée, Facturée and Expédiée describe how far the order the invoice came from has progressed, not a state belonging to the invoice. A normally issued invoice appears in the Facturée or Expédiée state.
Editing an invoice
The green ✏️ Editer icon opens a small window titled Facture, which only allows three items to be corrected:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Référence | The invoice number. |
| Date de facture | Its date of issue. |
| Contact | The contact person at the customer receiving it. |
Confirm with Enregistrer, or give up with Annuler.
Neither the lines, nor the quantities, nor the prices, nor the discounts can be corrected from this screen: only the header is editable. That is consistent with the nature of the document — an issued invoice is an accounting record.
To correct an amount, issue a credit note then, if necessary, a new invoice.
Printing an invoice
The 🖨️ Imprimer icon opens the document view, then the print template choice. Four forms are offered from the same invoice:
| Form | Use |
|---|---|
| Facture | The complete accounting document, with the prices. |
| Bon de livraison | The detail delivered, with the prices. |
| Bon de livraison sans prix | The detail delivered, without the amounts — to go with the parcel. |
| Bon de sortie | The stock release document, for internal use. |
To these are added three settings:
| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
| Modèles | Choose a print template among those defined for the company. |
| Deuxième langue | Produce the document in two languages, with translated article designations. |
| Entête et pied de page | Whether or not to include the company header and logo. |
That is the form to print to accompany the goods: the recipient — warehouse keeper, carrier, the customer's receiving department — sees the detail without knowing the pricing terms.
Logo, contact details and bank block come from Company details. Untick Entête et pied de page to print on pre-printed letterhead.
Issuing a credit note
The orange ↩️ Avoir icon opens the Factures d'avoir de la facture window, which presents the credit notes already issued against this invoice, with their reference and their date.
- Sélectionner opens an existing credit note.
- Nouveau creates a credit note against this invoice.
See Credit notes for what follows.
A credit note corrects an invoice that has already been issued: an error in the amount, a return of goods, a discount granted after the fact, a cancellation. It does not replace the invoice — it sits alongside it.
Creating an invoice directly
The ➕ button at the top left opens the Nouvelle facture de vente screen, full page. Its structure is that of a sales order: header — Référence, Réf. BC client, Date, Client, Site, Dépôt —, article lines with discount and VAT, payment terms, customer contact and totals.
Invoicing directly short-circuits the sales cycle: no order is attached, and the stock checks tied to confirmation do not apply in the same way. Keep this route for cases where there genuinely is no order — a one-off service, an adjustment.
Messages and troubleshooting
| Situation | Message | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The Enregistrer button in the editing window stays greyed out | — | The reference or the date is not filled in. |
| The invoice lines cannot be edited | — | Normal behaviour: only the header is editable. Issue a credit note to correct an amount. |
| The invoice does not print as expected | — | Check the form chosen — invoice, delivery note, delivery note without prices, stock release note — and the template. |
| The document comes out with no logo | — | Check that Entête et pied de page is ticked, and that the logo is loaded in Company details. |
| The second language changes nothing | — | The article designations have not been translated into that language. |
| An expected invoice does not appear | — | Check that the order was indeed invoiced. |
| The session has expired | Automatic return to the sign-in screen | Sign in again. |
Known limitations in this version
- Only the header of an invoice can be edited: reference, date and contact.
- No deletion of an invoice is possible — which is consistent for an accounting record, but an invoice created by mistake stays in the list for good.
- The Etat column reflects the state of the order, not that of the invoice: nothing indicates whether it has been settled. Settlement is tracked in Receivables.
- No total is displayed, neither per page nor overall.
- No filter by period and none by customer beyond the search field.
- The sort arrows in the headers are decorative.
