Hotels

Purpose

The Hotels module declares your group's establishments: their name, their star category, their number of floors, their address and whether they are in operation.

It is the foundation of the whole hotel chapter: rooms, rates, housekeeping and maintenance all attach to a hotel declared here.

A hotel is a centre

Technically, a hotel establishment rests on the notion of a centre, shared with Sites. Creating a hotel here creates the matching centre, enriched with the information specific to hotel work — category, floors, contact details.

Who can access this module?

The module is visible to accounts holding the Hotel management right.

The list of establishments

The hotels appear as cards. Each one shows:

Name	The name of the establishment.
Town, Country	Its location.
Actif / Inactif badge	Whether it is in operation.
★★★★	Its category, in stars.
… chambres	The number of rooms declared.
✏️	The edit button.

The card of an inactive establishment appears greyed out.

Searching and filtering

Filter	Values
Search	By name, town or country.
Statut	Tous, Actifs, Inactifs.
Catégorie	Toutes, or from ★ to ★★★★★.

The message « Aucun hôtel ne correspond aux filtres sélectionnés. » signals too restrictive a selection.

Creating a hotel

Click the ➕ button at the top of the screen: the Nouvel hôtel window opens.

Catégorie	✔	The star rating, from 1 to 5.
Nombre d'étages	✔	A whole number.
Adresse	✔	The street and number.

Confirm with Créer l'hôtel, or give up with Annuler.

The save button stays greyed out?

Six fields are checked: name, address, town, country, and a whole and sufficient number of floors. The phone number, the email and the activity switch play no part in it.

The number of floors cannot be reduced

When editing, the application refuses a value lower than the current number of floors and displays « Ne peut pas être inférieur à … (valeur actuelle). »

It is a safeguard: rooms are probably declared on the upper floors. To genuinely reduce the height of an establishment, first delete the rooms on the floors concerned in Rooms.

Editing a hotel

Click the ✏️ icon on the card: the Modifier l'hôtel window opens with the saved values.

Activating or deactivating an establishment

The Hôtel actif switch in the window governs the badge on the list.

Deactivate rather than delete

No hotel deletion is offered. For an establishment that has closed, been sold or is under long-term works, deactivate it: it stays viewable, with its history, and stands out visually in the list.

The effect of deactivation is not guaranteed elsewhere

The Inactif badge is management information. Nothing guarantees that a deactivated hotel disappears from the selectors on the other screens — dashboard, housekeeping, maintenance. Check before relying on it to prevent data being entered.

Messages and troubleshooting

Situation	Message	What to do
No hotel displayed	Aucun hôtel ne correspond aux filtres sélectionnés.	Widen the filters, the status one in particular.
Number of floors refused	Ne peut pas être inférieur à … (valeur actuelle).	Enter a value at least equal to the current one, or first delete the rooms on the top floors.
The save button stays greyed out	—	One of the six checked fields is empty or invalid.
The number of rooms displayed is zero	—	No room is declared: see Rooms.
A hotel does not appear on the dashboard	—	Check that it is active and that it has rooms.
A hotel cannot be deleted	—	Deletion does not exist: deactivate the establishment.
The session has expired	Automatic return to the sign-in screen	Sign in again; the entry in progress is lost.

Known limitations in this version

• No deletion of an establishment is possible.
• No success message confirms creation or editing.
• No photo and no description of the establishment.
• No capacity information beyond the number of rooms: no number of beds, no floor area, no facilities.
• No default check-in and check-out times can be configured at hotel level.
