Housekeeping

Purpose

The Housekeeping module organises the cleaning of the rooms: creating the tasks, sharing them out among the attendants, following their progress and having the work inspected by the head housekeeper before the room is made available again.

It is the floor team's everyday tool.

Who can access this module?

The module is visible to accounts holding the Hotel management right.

Access

  • Menu: Hotel management → Housekeeping
  • Address: /menages-hotel
  • Screen title: Ménage des chambres

The Retour au tableau de bord link takes you back to Main Hotel.

The five indicators

IndicatorContent
À FAIREToday's tasks not started yet.
EN COURSTasks being carried out.
À INSPECTERTasks finished, awaiting the head housekeeper's inspection.
VALIDÉESTasks inspected and accepted.
ARRIVÉES CE SOIRThe number of arrivals expected during the day.
"Arrivées ce soir" drives the priority

This figure states how many rooms absolutely must be ready. A room awaited by a guest arriving at 3 pm comes before a vacant room.

The life cycle of a task

À faire ──► En cours ──► À inspecter ──┬──► Validée
(assign) (start) (finish) │
└──► Refaire ──► back to À faire
StatusMeaningActions available
À faireThe task is created.Assigner if no attendant is named, Démarrer if one already is.
En coursThe attendant is cleaning the room.Terminer
À inspecterThe work is done, the head housekeeper must inspect it.Valider or Refaire
ValidéeThe inspection is passed. The room is ready.—
AnnuléeThe task was abandoned.—
Quality control is a step in its own right

Finishing a task does not make the room available: it moves to à inspecter. The head housekeeper validates — the room is ready — or asks for it to be done again, which sends the task back to À faire and increases its redo counter.

Creating a task

Click Nouvelle tâche: the Nouvelle tâche de ménage window opens.

FieldRequiredDescription
Hôtel✔The establishment concerned.
Chambre✔The room to deal with.
Type de prestation✔See below.
Agent assigné—The employee in charge of the cleaning.
Priorité—Basse, Normale or Prioritaire.
Consignes particulières—E.g. extra pillow, allergy to scented products.

The four service types

TypeContent
Recouche départFull linen change, complete cleaning and restocking of consumables.
Recouche en séjourDaily refresh for a guest still in place: bed, bathroom, bins.
Nettoyage approfondiFull service including windows, curtains, carpet and descaling.
Contrôle simpleQuick check of a vacant room that has stayed unoccupied.
Choosing the right type sets the time expected

Each type carries an estimated duration, which is then used to spot the tasks that overrun. A recouche en séjour entered as a nettoyage approfondi distorts the time tracking.

Automatic priority when an arrival is expected

If an arrival is expected in the room, the window says so — « Une arrivée est prévue dans cette chambre à 15:00 (K. Alaoui) — la tâche est marquée prioritaire automatiquement. » — and forces the priority.

Reading a task

The tasks are grouped by floor, with the number of tasks per landing. Each card shows:

ItemMeaning
Room and service typeThe essentials of the task.
… reprise(s)The number of times the head housekeeper turned the work down.
Attendant, or Non assignéeWho is taking care of it.
… min estiméesThe duration expected for that service type.
… min écouléesThe actual time since it started, on a task in progress.
Réalisé en … minThe duration recorded, once the task is finished.
Arrivée prévue …The arrival time of the guest expected.
Ne pas déranger signaléThe guest has asked not to be disturbed.
En attente gouvernanteThe task is awaiting inspection.
"Ne pas déranger signalé"

Do not enter the room: postpone the task and tell the front desk. The note stays displayed until the request is lifted.

Elapsed minutes reveal blockages

When the time elapsed goes past the time estimated, the card flags it. That is how to spot an attendant in difficulty or a room that takes more than expected.

Finding a task

Four filters combine:

FilterValues
StatutOuvertes (default), Toutes, À faire, En cours, À inspecter, Validées, Annulées.
HôtelTous, or one establishment.
ÉtageTous, or a specific floor.
AgentSearch by name, with Tous and Non assignées.

A free search field completes the set.

Two filters to organise the day

Non assignées gives the tasks to share out in the morning. Étage lets each attendant see only their own area.

The Statut filter starts on "Ouvertes"

Validated and cancelled tasks are therefore hidden by default. Switch to Toutes to look at the whole day.

Editing or deleting a task

The ✏️ Modifier button reopens the window — only on a task that is À faire. The 🗑️ Supprimer button removes the task.

Known limitations in this version

  • No cancellation is offered from the cards, even though the Annulée status exists and can be filtered on.
  • No reason is asked for when work is turned down: the redo counter goes up without anyone knowing what was wrong.
  • No attachment — a photo of damage found, for instance.
  • No automatic generation of tasks from the day's departures: every task is created by hand.
  • No summary per attendant: number of rooms done, average time, redo rate.
