Operation routings

Purpose

An operation routing describes how to manufacture an article: the sequence of operations to carry out, in the workshop concerned, to turn the components into a finished product.

It complements the bill of materials: the latter says what the article is made of, the routing says which steps it goes through.

A routing is attached to a bill of materials

The link is mandatory: a routing is never defined "in a vacuum", but always for a given composition. Create the bill of materials first.

Who can access this module?

The module is visible to accounts holding the Production management right.

Access

  • Menu: Production management → Operation routings
  • Address: /gammes
  • Screen title: Gammes opératoires

The routing list

The top bar contains ☰ side menu, 🏠 home, the Filtrer… field, the name of the signed-in account, the language selector and the account menu.

ColumnContent
CodeThe routing code.
DésignationIts name.
ServiceThe workshop it belongs to.
Action✏️ Editer and 🗑️ Supprimer.

The list shows 50 routings per page, with the pagination controls.

The "Service" column shows the workshop

Despite its heading, it shows the production centre chosen in the Atelier field on the record.

Creating a routing

Click the ➕ button at the top left of the table: the Ajouter Gamme opératoire window opens.

The four header fields

FieldRequiredDescription
Code✔The routing code, unique in the workspace.
Désignation✔Its name.
Atelier✔The production centre where the routing runs.
Nomenclature✔The composition the routing relates to.

All four are required: the Enregistrer button stays inactive as long as one of them is missing.

The "Atelier" list only offers production centres

As for machines, only the centres whose Atelier de production box is ticked in Sites appear.

Choosing the bill of materials

The Nomenclature field is a search field, not a plain dropdown:

  1. Start typing the code or the name of the bill of materials.
  2. Matches appear as you go.
  3. Click the one you want.

The message « Aucune nomenclature trouvée » signals that no match exists. The ✕ button to the right of the field clears the selection so you can choose another.

Assigning the operations

The Opérations affectées section lists the routing's steps.

  1. Click Ajouter: an operation search field appears.
  2. Type the code or the label you are looking for — the message « Aucune opération disponible » appears if there is no match.
  3. Click the operation to assign it.

Each assigned operation appears with its code and its designation. To remove one, use the red button on the row, or swipe the row to the left.

When no operation is assigned, the section displays « Aucune opération affectée ».

The order of the operations cannot be set

The window allows operations to be assigned, but not to be ordered: there is no sequence number and no way to move them within the list. The operations appear in the order in which they were added.

If the sequence matters for your workshop, add them in order of execution, or carry the sequence in the operation code — 010 Découpe, 020 Pliage, 030 Finition — in Operations.

An operation can only be assigned once

The search list automatically excludes the operations already present in the routing. So the same operation cannot appear in it twice.

Editing a routing

On the row concerned, click the green ✏️ Editer icon: the window opens with the header and the operations already assigned.

The code can no longer be changed

When editing, the Code field becomes read-only. To change a routing's code, a new one has to be created.

Manufacturing orders in progress are not recalculated

Editing a routing does not change the manufacturing orders already launched: those keep the operations in force at launch time.

Deleting a routing

The delete button has no effect

The red 🗑️ Supprimer icon is present on every row but triggers no action: no confirmation is displayed and the routing stays in the list.

An obsolete routing cannot be removed from the application. Say so in its designation to keep it from being picked up at launch time.

Known limitations in this version

  • The Supprimer button has no effect: no deletion is possible.
  • Operations cannot be ordered: no sequence number, no reordering.
  • No duration and no machine is associated with the operation at routing level: that information, where it exists, is carried by the operation itself.
  • No total routing time is calculated.
  • The sort arrows in the headers are decorative.
